The problem with getting into golf.
It all begins with hitting a crisp shot. Chasing the feeling again and again. We want to share this feeling with more people who may not have seen themselves as ‘traditional’ golfers.
Problem 1 - inaccessible, cost ineffective
Golf is inaccessible to people in the city. Virtual golf is expensive for those who want to practice often. Driving ranges in the city are rare and busy. Golf studios are aimed at corporate events and at the elite, with prices starting from £50/hr. And having your own golf rig is not viable in small apartments with hefty upfront costs.
So why not have a local shared model? Where you use a golf studio to play a round or practice your game, solo or with friends, to stay sharp for your next golf trip.
Problem 2 - inclusivity, diversity
Golf is perceived to be for the elite. Without direct encouragement, it is hard to get involved in golf.
I remember driving into the golf course car park for the first time, instantly feeling out of place, and driving straight out. I remember being embarrassed for not keeping up with play, for not knowing the rules, the etiquette, and the way to dress!
But that didn’t stop me from falling in love with the sport, understanding the sport’s joy and beauty wanting to share it with more people.
So why don’t I create a safe space for people to learn and get familiar before jumping on a real course?
